Event & Marketing Executive

Our client a well-established regional UK law firm with an impressive international reach Located close to Reading station are looking for and Events and Marketing Executive to join their Marketing team on a permanent basis.

Salary is dependent on experience.

This is an exciting role for a new person to join a vibrant team.  We are looking for someone with previous events and marketing experience, preferably in a professional services environment. This role will manage and deliver an extensive calendar of internal and externally hosted events (in-person seminars, webinars, conferences, industry awards events, corporate hospitality events and online training). The successful candidate will be confident with digital and hybrid provision of events entailing full end-to-end organisational management, including logistics and keeping to budgets.

The role will require regular communication with the stakeholders, promotion on social media and the website, and to be there on the day to host the events.

We are looking for someone that enjoys and can comfortably handle organising up to 50 events a year, single-handedly, in the office and at external venues when required.

You will be working closely with the Head of Marketing and Business Development and the BD & Marketing team, practice areas and support teams.  The Events and Marketing Exec will also provide digital support to the marketing team as and when the team and business requires. There may also be some involvement in staff events.

The role is a combined events and marketing role, but events is the main and key priority of this role and exceptional organisational ability and meticulous attention to detail is of paramount importance.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.

  • Essential to have thorough knowledge of events processes both running/hosting and liaising with conferences as sponsors/attendees with stands etc.
  • Has experience working in a busy events function.
  • Knowledge of setting up and running Webinars (using Zoom, essential).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms as a marketing tool (essential)
  • Knowledge of InterAction (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Vuture (desirable).
  • Knowledge of working within a Business Development team, and a Professional Services firm is preferred.
  • Responsible for uploading future events on to the firm website, and other necessary webpages such as Eventbrite (training provided if necessary).
  • The ability to work with all members of the firm to build the necessary team to execute the event, keeping all stakeholders informed as the event progresses.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Can use creative ways of solving foreseeable problems and working around issues to get the best result for the event and those involved.
  • A pro-active mind-set to suggest ideas for future events, working on current projects whilst also thinking of new ideas. 
  • An excellent multi-tasker.
  • Happy to be client facing as you will be the point person to our clients, both leading up to the event and on the day.
  • Ability to have flexible working hours so that working hours can be adjusted to enable you to host the events.
